A hawker bought a number of apples at $320 and sold them at $10 for four apples . He gained as much as he paid for 40 apples . How many apples did he buy ?

最佳解答:

let X be the apple that he had buy: 4X=10 X=2.5 SO,each apple cost $2.5 the hawker bought a number of apples at$320 so $320/$2.5 =128 the hawker bought 128apples

其他解答:

Let x be the number of apples bought, then $(10/4)x be the amount of money for apples sold, and $40(320/x) be the amount of money gained. (10/4)x = 320 + 40(320/x) 5x/2 = 320 + 12800/x x = 128 + 5120/x x2 -128x -5120 = 0 (x + 32) (x-160) = 0 x = -32(rejected) or 160 Hence, he bought 160 apples. Countercheck: Amount of money for apples sold = ($10/4)(160) = $400 Amount of money gained = 40($320/160) = $80 = $400 - $320|||||Let x be the number of apples he bought. 320/x * 40 = 10 / 4 * 40 320/x = 2.5 x = 320 / 2.5 = 128 So, he bought 128 apples.4E350C6F8B48ECA2
